Hello! It's been a minute since I've been able to post an update here. The winter apocalypse of 2021 left me without wifi for a week, but I'm here now!

I finished my first cycle of chemo. On Saturday I was going to say that I made it without throwing up, but alas, nausea won on Wednesday... it was on me because I had forgotten that my medication was something that I could take on the onset of nausea. I'm not going to say this first week was easy, but it wasn't as bad as everyone was expecting it to be. I got very tired and nauseous, but I'm back to normal on campus until cycle #2 starts next week!

With that being said, life isn't normal, and I'm trying to work with being ok with that. Constantly having to reassure myself and everyone else is emotionally draining, and I need to be real with it. If I'm not feeling well, I don't have to muster the strength to pretend like I am, I'm going through chemotherapy!! I probably have one of the best excuse out there!

It's ok to not be ok.

I was also going to post that I was surprised I hadn't started losing my hair yet, but that's not true anymore. This morning I went to the bathroom to fix my bangs, and I wet my hands like I usually do and I started to style my curls and my hands felt odd. I looked at them and they were covered in my hair! It's not enough to shave my head yet, so no one jump the gun, but it is a little bit of an unsettling feeling. Good thing I had a wig!

Thank you to everyone for being supportive and motivating. I'm going to get through this!

As you go through this journey, stop, look, and listen for God in all that is happening around you and inside you. Be assured God is always there, running toward you, loving you, protecting you, wanting you to lean on Him.
