My Diagnosis

Hi!

In January of 2021, I went to the ER with abdominal pain and after lots of testing the doctors found a mass attached to one of my ovaries the size of a honeydew!

I had a very successful surgery to get the mass (and my ovary!) removed and the pathologist informed me that it was a

"Stage 1a, Grade 3 Immature Teratoma"

Stage 1a: Limited to one ovary and hadn't spread past that ovary

Grade 3: Cancer cells look abnormal and may grow and spread quickly and aggressively

Immature Teratoma: Malignant ovarian germ cell tumor

At a quick glance this is scary news, but it is not the worst that could have happened! I made this blog to keep record of my journey after my diagnosis, and to also assure everyone around me that I am ok! I am very optimistic of my recovery and everyone else should be too :)
